I’ve also included a ton of remote “corporate” jobs if you’d like to pursue your professional career from anywhere. In the description of each company, I’ll describe some of the benefits you’ll receive if you work for the company and what positions they have open at the time of writing (December 2018). Even if they’re not hiring for those exact positions, this should give you an idea of the jobs they might have available (FlexJobs lists previous jobs for this reason).
People leave companies all the time… since they’ve recently been hiring for a given role, there’s a fair chance they’ll be looking to fill it (or a similar one) in the future!
Please note: the majority of these “ hire based on previous experience, although some offer customer support roles where you may be able to list related experience and still land the position.
Some of positions listed at these companies are more focused on “career” skills, such as development / programming roles.
Ascendo sells mobile apps that help customers manage their passwords. They have employees in many countries such as Bangladesh, Ukraine, Russia, Australia, and the US. They were recently hiring a customer support representative and a freelance animator.
The company has some good opportunities for moonlighters and freelancers that could turn into part-time or full-time jobs. Click here to view their job listings!
HelpScout provides businesses with a variety of customer service tools. Right now (as of March 6th 2019) they’re hiring software engineers and product managers, but you can still send in your application if you’re not the right candidate for either of those positions. Just like the other companies on this list, they offer a great benefits package with lots of vacation time, 401K matching, paid parental leave, disability and life insurance, and full health insurance coverage for you and your family.
In a review of the company, an employee said:
“Since day one, I’ve felt like a part of the team since everyone was so welcoming and friendly! What I love the most is that everyone is exceptional at their craft… It’s also amazing to be able to work from home (or wherever I feel most comfortable) as we have and embrace a remote-first culture, but it’s a total blast when we get together twice a year for our company retreat!”
Hubstaff develops software that lets you manage your staff and your business. Timesheets, payroll, employee productivity monitoring, GPS Tracking, Invoicing are just some of the tasks this software company takes on. Many employees are freelancers which has its pros and cons, but the company is very straightforward that experience isn’t required. This is a company where you can learn and grow. One employee noted:
“I learned all kinds of technical programming engineering software. I am now able to get my own clients and work with them independently.”
Open jobs include developers, Quality Assurance Engineers, UX Engineers, and Customer Service Managers. If you’re not quite sure where you fit in but want to get involved, they also accept “general applications 😉
